There’s something magical about the Santa Barbara Botanical Garden, and I was thrilled to be back there for Evelyn’s senior session! The lush greenery, the golden light filtering through the trees—it all set the perfect stage for capturing this incredible moment in Evelyn’s life. And as if the setting wasn’t already perfect, we had a stellar entourage to make the session even more fun.
Evelyn’s friend Jordyn joined us for the shoot, helping ensure the vibe stayed light and fun (not that Evelyn needed much help with that). Her mom, dad, and little brother also tagged along, with her brother taking on the crucial role of garden navigator—because every good adventure needs a guide, right?
From the very first shot, Evelyn was an absolute natural. Now, I like to think I have a knack for helping my seniors feel at ease in front of the camera—I mean, I do have a charming and fun personality, if I do say so myself—but let’s be real, Evelyn didn’t need much help. She exuded confidence, grace, and a radiant personality that made my job almost too easy. And the camera? Well, it downright adored her.
Walking through the garden, we found so many gorgeous little pockets of light and scenery that seemed tailor-made for Evelyn’s session. She brought such a warm and joyful energy to every shot, which isn’t surprising considering the enthusiasm she brings to football games, too! Her ability to light up a space—whether on the sidelines or in front of my camera—is truly something special.
