Lompoc has no shortage of quirky, offbeat, and straight-up cool locations, and Izzy’s senior session was all about embracing that raw, urban feel. We hit up some of the town’s more industrial spots, weaving together a mix of gritty textures, bold graffiti, and a few unexpected rain showers (because, of course, Lompoc likes to keep me on my toes).

Our adventure started near an abandoned and graffitied train, where Izzy stood against the vibrant, spray-painted walls that told a thousand stories—some artistic, some... well, let’s just say, creative. I made sure to find backgrounds where the graffiti was PG, keeping things tasteful and parent-approved. The contrast between his edgy, cool vibe as a native Lompocian, complete with authentically patterned sweaters that just work for him and the rough, textured backdrop made for some killer shots. From there, we wandered over to the train tracks, playing with leading lines and angles that made the photos feel like a scene straight out of a moody indie film.

Next stop? A cluster of towering queen palms that brought an unexpected tropical touch to our otherwise industrial-inspired shoot. It was one of those little hidden gems that reminded me why I love scouting locations—Lompoc may be known for its rolling hills and flower fields, but it’s got some seriously cool spots if you know where to look.

Then came the old drive-in theater—once a place for families to catch a movie under the stars, now a makeshift hangout spot for Lompoc’s less fortunate. It’s got this eerie, nostalgic vibe, like a time capsule of what used to be. We kept things respectful, snapping a few shots that played with light and shadows, giving Izzy’s session a cinematic, almost dystopian touch.

We wrapped up at Ken Adam Park, where Izzy finally got a break from the industrial grit and traded it for the softer, natural tones of the trees and open space. It was the perfect way to close out the session—clean, classic, and timeless.

As for Izzy—he handled the whole shoot like a total pro. Like most senior guys, he wasn’t exactly jumping for joy at the idea of posing for photos, but he stuck it out like a champ. Quiet, polite, and patient, I could tell he was mentally counting down the minutes, but you’d never know from the shots. Congrats on your senior year, Izzy!
