Sometimes, the weather decides to throw a little curveball at a photo session. But every once in a while, you get a client who outshines even the gloomiest of days. Enter Jocelin: the high school senior who brought all the sunshine to an otherwise cold, misty, and overcast evening at Babcock Winery in Lompoc.
Now, if you haven’t been to Babcock Winery, let me paint a picture for you. Rolling vineyards, charming rustic buildings, and an atmosphere that feels like you’ve stepped into an artist’s dreamscape. It’s a photographer’s paradise—especially for senior sessions. The golden hour light (or in this case, soft diffused cloud light) works wonders against the vineyard backdrop. And even on a misty evening like this one, the scenery had this moody, cinematic glow that made every shot look like it belonged in a magazine.
Jocelin arrived with a bit of nerves—totally normal. But it didn’t take long before her confidence started shining through. She laughed, twirled, and completely embraced the moment. Whether she was jeans or rocking her cheer uniform, every frame captured her personality in full force. And when she smiled? Pure magic.
One of the best parts of this session was seeing Jocelin’s transformation. What started as a quiet, hesitant energy quickly turned into something radiant and bold. By the end of the session, she was moving through poses effortlessly, flashing the kind of natural, joyful expressions that make a photographer’s heart sing.
Babcock Winery proved, once again, why it’s one of my favorite locations for senior sessions. The open spaces allowed us to get a variety of shots, from dreamy vineyard strolls to playful moments on the rustic pathways. And that moody sky? A total unexpected win—it added a layer of drama and depth that made Jocelin pop even more in every frame.
Choosing which sneak peeks to post was a near-impossible task because—let’s be real—every single image was a winner. But that’s the best kind of problem to have, right?
Congrats, Jocelin!
