Some senior sessions require a little extra creativity, and Luca’s? Well, let’s just say I took the plunge—literally! For the first time ever, I had the opportunity to photograph a senior session at the Arroyo Grande High School pool, and it was nothing short of a splash hit.
From the get-go, Luca was all in. When his mom requested action shots, I knew I had to go full-throttle. That meant lying belly-down on the pool deck, camera poised, ready to capture every perfect stroke. Luca powered through every shot like a champ—especially when I asked him to do the butterfly stroke about a million times to get just the right frame. (Thanks for humoring me, Luca. You absolutely nailed it!)
After drying off—well, mostly—we headed over to Shell Beach to chase that golden hour glow. And let me tell you, the weather was on our side: clear skies, a gentle breeze, and that dreamy, warm sunset light that makes my photographer heart sing. The only downside? The swarm of sand gnats that decided to crash the party. (Seriously, I think I’m still scratching!)
Despite the uninvited guests, the beach portion of Luca’s session was pure magic. The ocean, the light, and Luca’s natural ease in front of the camera made for some stunning portraits that truly reflect his passion and personality.
A huge congratulations to you, Luca! You crushed your session, and I’m beyond stoked to have captured this milestone in your journey. Wishing you all the best as you dive into this next chapter—no doubt you’ll make some serious waves!
