The last time I saw Mia, she was a fierce freshman on the travel softball team my daughter played for—the Cruisers. She was quiet, but let me tell you, even I was a little intimidated by her. (And I’m a grown adult.) So when her name popped up in my inbox wanting ME to take her senior photos? I may or may not have done a little happy dance. Okay, I definitely did.

Fast forward to the day of her session—I step out of my car, take one look at Mia, and shocked doesn’t even begin to cover it. This tough, no-nonsense softball player had transformed into an absolutely gorgeous young woman. And photographing her? Pure joy. She was sweet, kind, and radiated that effortless senior-year confidence. You know, the kind I somehow missed the class on… seriously, where was the signup sheet for that?

Ken Adam Park turned out to be the perfect location for Mia’s session. The blend of scrub oaks, tall golden grass, and little hidden gems we stumbled upon only highlighted her beauty even more. And then—she brought out her guitar. That’s when my creativity kicked into overdrive. I love when seniors bring props that truly reflect who they are, and I always challenge myself to photograph them in a way that feels unique to each session. So, of course, we got creative with her guitar, and Mia was totally up for it.

And can we talk about that golden-hour glow? Mom was a little worried we wouldn’t get those dreamy, sunlit shots she was hoping for since the fog started creeping in. But the sun held on just long enough for us to capture the magic, and let’s just say, mission accomplished!

Mia, you absolutely rocked your session, and I couldn’t be happier for you as you step into this next chapter. Wishing you all the success in the world—congrats, girl!
