Families don't usually request home photoshoots, except for newborn sessions. But the Gowins family adores their precious pup and wanted him to be involved in the session as much as possible, so we decided to have it at their home. And what a home it was! An abundance of picturesque spots made it the perfect backdrop to capture those precious family moments.
Enter Bleu, the family's beloved dog. Now, unfortunately, Bleu wasn't exactly thrilled with my presence. Maybe it was the camera, maybe it was the stranger in his territory—either way, he wasn’t having it. But hey, I'm always up for a challenge, especially when it involves adorable pets. I gave it my best shot, oh boy, did I ever. I plopped myself down on the floor, hoping to coax Bleu over with my best "I'm a friend" vibes. He stayed distant, suspicious, and utterly uninterested in the camera. I tried snapping some quick shots, but Bleu had perfected the art of dodging my lens.
Despite Bleu’s reluctance, the rest of the session went beautifully. The Gowins family was a joy to work with—warm, engaging, and full of smiles. Their home provided a perfect canvas, with cozy nooks and charming corners highlighting their unique family bond.
As the session was winding down, I was determined to get at least one good shot of Bleu. With a bit of patience, I finally managed to snap a few shots of him. Victory! It wasn’t easy, but those final images of Bleu are priceless, capturing his personality and the love his family has for him. Whew! What an adventure. This session reminded me why I love what I do—every family is unique, every session is different, and there's always a story to tell. The Gowins family now has a beautiful collection of photos that includes every member, even the stubborn yet lovable Bleu.
