I've shot in a lot of different weather conditions, but rain is the one that really throws a wrench in things. We were all set for our session in the Santa Ynez Valley Botanic Garden. The forecast didn’t mention anything about a torrential downpour, let alone thunder and lightning. We tried to wait it out, taking cover under whatever we could find. But let’s be real; it just wasn’t happening. I could see Allison was doing her best to stay upbeat, but between our hair curling up and her beautiful dress getting drenched, it was clear we were fighting a losing battle. And when the lightning felt like it was about to strike us down? I made the call to cancel, which is a rarity for me.

The next time we met, the weather was absolutely perfect. I could see it on Allison's face; this was the day she’d imagined. The sun was streaming through the leaves, casting beautiful light that danced around us. Allison lit up the scene; she had this ethereal quality in every shot, reminiscent of an old silent film star with those big, captivating eyes that just draw you in.

Thank you, Allison, for trusting me to capture this special time.
