This one stung just a little. I’ve known Zach since he was a tween, and now here he is, grown, married, and about to be a dad. Wild how time works.

No matter what happens with marriages or family branches, Zach will always be my nephew. Watching him grow into this thoughtful, responsible, genuinely good man has been something special. And Emely? She’s his perfect match, kind, grounded, and clearly crazy about him.

We met up at Mattei’s Tavern in Los Olivos for their maternity session. If you haven’t been, it’s got that perfect Central Coast charm, quiet, scenic, and just the right mix of polished and natural. And these two made the most of it. From sweet, still moments to full-out laughter, it was all real. No overthinking, no stiff posing, just Zach and Emely being exactly who they are together.

There’s something extra special about seeing two people who really see each other step into parenthood. You can feel the excitement and the calm all at once. They’re ready. And this baby is already so loved.
