It’s not often I come across another Jane Austen, Secret Garden type gal, but when I do, I find myself in a delightful conundrum—like wandering into a maze in one of those grand English estates. The kind where you think you know the way, only to realize you’ve been turned around by a hedge (or in this case, a lapse in memory).

So, imagine my utter horror when, in the midst of an enchanting conversation with Monique, I found myself forgetting the most iconic name in all of Austen's works—Mr. Darcy. Yes, that Darcy, the dashing gentleman who has stolen many a heart across generations. How could I, a self-proclaimed Austen aficionado, have such an egregious slip? I mean, I might as well have forgotten Elizabeth Bennet’s sharp wit or Elinor Dashwood’s steady resolve—or heaven forbid, Emma Woodhouse’s charming meddling! The shame was real, my friends. But after I recovered from this Austenian faux pas, I knew I had to make it up to Monique.

With a renewed sense of purpose and an inner channeling of Jane herself, I was determined to make Monique’s session nothing short of unforgettable. And, oh, did she rise to the occasion! Monique embraced her role with all the grace and charm of an Austen heroine, gracefully getting lost in the Santa Ynez Botanical Garden as if she were in her very own secret garden.

It’s a truth universally acknowledged that you can’t go wrong when your client truly embodies the spirit of the shoot. Monique, you were an absolute treasure to photograph. Your sweet, subtle, and quiet nature was a joy, and your beauty, like the best of Austen’s heroines, radiates from within. Congratulations, Monique!
