First off, I love her name. If you know me, you understand why. I did check, and it was for the reason I was hoping, so I knew this session would be awesome.
Lennon chose Waller Park for her senior session. I hadn’t been there in years. All I remembered was the bright green grass, the trees, and the pond. I struggled to think of many places to take her photos. Oh, and let's not forget the ducks and geese who leave their mess everywhere.
The pond could provide a nice backdrop, but memories of falling in flooded back. That moment from my childhood is vivid—dark water, slimy sides, and the fact that I was not a good swimmer. Not fun. But I survived. When I arrived at Waller Park and started walking around, I discovered so many spots that would be perfect. Then came Lennon.
Within minutes, her personality shone through. Her colorful hair, flawless skin, striking blue eyes, and perfectly placed freckles made Waller Park look better than I have ever seen it. I'm pretty sure the park's transformation was entirely due to her.
Lennon, you are a beautiful soul. I treasured every moment of photographing you and chatting with your mom.
Future seniors, take note. Confidence looks great on camera, but so does simply having fun.
Thank you, Lennon, for trusting me to capture this special time.
