I surrender. The weather app has officially betrayed me for the last time.

Azra’s senior session was all set for golden hour magic, and while the sky looked a bit moody, there was no rain in the forecast. None. Zero. Zilch. So, like a trusting fool, I packed my camera bag with confidence, expecting nothing more than a little drama in the clouds. But just as we were getting into the groove, those ominous clouds started giving off strong "hydration station" vibes.

No problem. We press on. Azra was absolutely radiant, and I had a mission to capture every bit of her glow before the sky pulled a fast one. I worked quickly (but not too quickly—this is art, after all), and as expected, the misty drizzle leveled up to a full-fledged downpour. And I mean enthusiastic downpour. The kind where you blink twice and suddenly you’re starring in an impromptu rain-soaked drama.

Cue the mad dash indoors!

Thankfully, Babcock Winery has a ridiculously cool indoor space, and we took cover like pros. Just a few minutes later, the rain disappeared as if it had never happened—like some kind of meteorological practical joke. We peeked outside, saw the coast was clear, and got right back to work. And you know what? It was perfect (a word I probably say at least 500 times per session, according to my clients, and I regret nothing).

And let’s take a moment for the autumn vibes—yes, we do get fall on the Central Coast, and Azra was surrounded by rich, golden hues that made every shot even more stunning. She was sweet, kind, and such a joy to photograph, effortlessly nailing every pose and making my job almost too easy.

So despite Mother Nature’s attempts to keep us on our toes, the session was a success. Azra, you were an absolute star, and I’m so excited for you! Now, if someone could recommend a weather app that doesn’t have trust issues, that’d be great.
