Ciara showed up to her senior session in a bold red dress and cowboy boots, and I knew right away we were in for a good one. We shot at La Purisima Mission, a favorite spot of mine that somehow still surprises me.
The weather was typical for the Mission, soft light, quiet air, and the kind of calm that makes portraits shine. But what really stood out was how Ciara made the space her own. That red dress popped against the old stone and muted earth tones. She brought the energy, and the Mission rose to meet her.
Ciara didn’t hesitate. She knew her angles, knew what she wanted, and carried herself with the kind of confidence that makes photos easy. She made dramatic poses look effortless and made the in-between moments count too.
While wandering around with Ciara, I found a few areas at the Mission I’d never photographed before. It’s always a bonus when a session brings a new perspective, and her adventurous spirit definitely led us to some hidden corners I’ll be revisiting.
We got variety, we got style, and we even got a few laughs. Ciara made it all look like a breeze.
Thank you, Ciara, for trusting me to capture this special time.
If you’re thinking about a senior session at La Purisima Mission, I’d love to help you plan it.
