I wasn’t sure what to expect with Jamison, but I had an idea for his session that I was eager to explore. Sometimes, as photographers, we hit creative ruts. I was starting to feel that way and wanted to push myself to try something new. When I met Jamison, he was quiet and serious, giving off a pensive look that was surprisingly striking. If he didn’t want to smile during the session, I wouldn’t push it. But with a serious gaze that good, I wouldn’t push too hard.
The pose I had in mind required a bit of animation from him. Luckily, Jamison was willing to dive in, and what followed was about 15 minutes of genuine laughter. In the end, we landed a final shot that quickly became one of my favorites.
Thank you, Jamison, for trusting me to capture this special time.
