So I never knew there was a lake behind Cabrillo High School, did you? Lincoln sure did, and he led his mom and me all over the chaparral where his cross country team runs. The moss on the trees gets so heavy it looks like a fairy forest, and we even wandered down towards the spindly deep red manzanitas. It was a blast using this space for Lincoln's senior photos; it made the session so unique and so much him.
At some point during the shoot, I looked at Lincoln and felt this sense of familiarity, only to realize he was another kid my daughter went to elementary school with. Ugh, so many this year. Lincoln was a joy to photograph, and he truly showed me and his mom all the beauty that lies in our own backyard.
