Repeat clients are some of my favorite people to photograph. There’s something really special about someone coming back and saying, “Yeah, we want to do this with you again.” Maddie and Art are one of those couples, and I was so happy to work with them for another couples session in Lompoc.

This time, they were even more relaxed. They knew how I work, I knew how they vibe, and it didn’t take long before they were just paying attention to each other and forgetting I was there. Those are always my favorite photos. The ones where they’re laughing or just sharing a look, like I’m a fly on the wall. That’s the stuff I love. Sure, we did a few posed ones too because some people like those, and that’s totally fine. But for me, the connection in those candid moments always wins.

We did have a little wind to contend with, but honestly, it worked out. Maddie’s hair had this soft movement in some of the shots that gave them a fun, natural feel.
