From the moment I met Owen, I had a hunch this was going to be one of those sessions. The kind you walk away from grinning and already excited to edit. He was polite, easygoing, and totally on board with whatever idea I threw his way. That’s basically a photographer’s dream client.
Ocean Park and Surf Beach gave us plenty to work with. The light was right, the breeze cooperated, and Owen brought the kind of energy that makes a session feel more like a hangout than work. Whether we were trying something more serious or messing around with goofy poses, he was all in. That flexibility made a big difference. We got a great mix of photos, some sharp and classic, some full of personality.
What stood out most about Owen was how open he was. Not every senior comes in ready to roll with all my quirky prompts, but he just went for it. He wasn’t trying to impress or overthink it, and that made it easy to get natural, authentic shots.
There was one stretch where I tossed out a pose idea I wasn’t sure would land. It was a little out there, but Owen didn’t blink. He just did it. And of course, it ended up being one of my favorite shots from the whole day. That’s the kind of trust that makes sessions really work.
Owen, thank you for being such a great sport and for making your session one I won’t forget. Seniors like you make this job something I look forward to every time.
Thank you, Owen, for trusting me to capture this special time.
