Take a dash of '70s rock, a splash of '80s teen movie nostalgia, and sprinkle in some Southern charm à la Gone with the Wind, and you get Scarlett—a high school senior who made this photographer feel like I was living my best mixed-tape fantasy. Oh, and did I mention she has a one-eyed pup named Freddy? That alone deserves its own Bohemian Rhapsody-level ballad.

We kicked off this epic session at Miguelito Park, where Scarlett slipped into her cheerleader persona like a pro. Effortless jumps, killer poses, and energy that could light up a stadium—she nailed it all. Honestly, some of my favorite shots came from this part of the session. The light was perfect, the cheer vibes were on point, and Scarlett? Total star.

Then came drumroll please—WARDROBE CHANGE! Cue Freddy, her one-eyed wonder dog, who absolutely stole the show. I really wanted to say, "Ready, Freddy!" about 17 times but managed to keep my cool (mostly). Scarlett’s connection with Freddy made every shot look like an album cover waiting to happen. Who knew a one-eyed pup could channel so much charisma?

And, as all great theater kids do, Scarlett brought all the drama in the best way possible. I’d throw her into a bush for a whimsical vibe—bam, she looked like a woodland goddess. Hand her a book? She’d serve Anna Karenina realness with just her eyes. Seriously, her range was giving me Oscar-worthy chills. Oh, and yes, she’s named after the Scarlett O’Hara, which makes perfect sense because this girl was born to be iconic.

Then came the pièce de résistance—photos with her car. "Bring it on!" I said, channeling my best Ferris Bueller’s Day Offenergy. Scarlett struck the ultimate "badass" poses, and we captured some edgy, yet timeless vibes. Move over, Sandy and Danny, there's a new cool kid in town.

But we weren’t done yet. Oh no. We wrapped up the session at Certain Sparks Music Store, which was the perfect place to showcase Scarlett’s love of music. With its moody lighting and retro charm, it was like stepping into an alternate universe where Pretty in Pink meets Almost Famous. Scarlett even knew the Pretty in Pink references (bless her), and I didn’t have to explain why Ducky wasn’t there. She channeled everything from brooding rocker to pop sensation, and those shots? Some of my new all-time faves. Plus, it pushed me to embrace artificial light and get creative, which felt like a total win.

Scarlett, you’re a legend. From cheer to Freddy, cars to music stores, you brought every part of your world to life in a way that’s as unforgettable as your killer taste in music. Congrats on your senior year, and may your playlist always rock as hard as you do.
