It’s not every day I get to photograph a whole group of lovely ladies indoors, without any natural light. This headshot session was a rare chance for me to really step outside my usual offerings. Don’t get me started on the headshots I often see; it’s surprising what people consider "professional" pics, especially the selfies. Yikes.
This was different, though. These photos were meant for creatives, and I was genuinely excited to showcase the talented women at Velvet Movement Dance & Cheer Academy. Owned by the dynamic duo Kendall Lopez and Kira Gonzales, Velvet Movement is the perfect setting to celebrate and promote women in business.
With the ladies gathered, I knew I had my work cut out for me. The atmosphere was energetic, and I could sense both excitement and a bit of nerves from everyone. But that’s just part of the process, right?
